PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device capable of enhancing the sheet processing efficiency. SOLUTION: The sheet processing device 119 is structured so that a finisher control part controls a swing roller couple 127 to exhaust sheets stacked on a processing tray 129 to a stack tray 128 when no more following sheet is supplied to a buffer unit 140 for a certain period of time, and the sheets held by the buffer unit 140 are stacked on the stack tray 128. This enables the user to quickly acquire a stapled sheet bundle irrespective of eventual occurrence of jamming. and it is possible to enhance the processing efficiency and also the easiness for the user to manipulate.
