PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sprinkler which is equipped with a height adjusting mechanism and has such a shock-damping mechanism as to prevent the occurrence of a failure and abnormal sounds of component parts. SOLUTION: The sprinkler 1 is so constituted that its body stretches to a height direction to spray water. The height adjusting mechanism 12 comprises an upper stay 13 arranged to the upper end of the inner cylinder 3, a regulation rod 14 provided on the upper stay so as to be protruded downwardly in the slide direction of the inner cylinder 3 from the stay, a locking body 19 provided in the lower part of the rod 14 and a regulation stay 18 externally fitted to the outer peripheral surface of the outer cylinder 2 so as to be freely slid and locked in the height direction of the outer cylinder 2, and a shock absorbing spring 26 interposed between the locking body 19 and the regulation stay 18.
