PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video reproducing apparatus capable of switching a menu image with a simple operation. SOLUTION: A button having a command of advancing to a succeeding menu image is assigned to a NEXT button and a button having a command of returning to a preceding menu image is assigned to a RETURN button among buttons of each menu image. For example, when a feed direction skip button of a remote controller is depressed while a menu of page 0.1 is displayed, a 'NEXT' button 13 is highlighted and its command is executed, and the menu is jumped to page 0.2. In a conventional apparatus, a cursor button of a remote controller is operated to move a cursor on an uppermost button 11 up to a 'NEXT' button 13 and an enter button of the remote controller is depressed to jump the menu to page 0.2.
