<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball with excellent flying performance and control performance. <P>SOLUTION: The golf ball 1 is provided with a core 2 and a cover 3. The core 2 consists of a center 4 and an intermediate layer 5. A number of dimples 6 are formed on the surface of the cover 3. A base material polymer of this cover 3 is a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer as the main component. Shore D hardness of this cover 3 is≥30 and≤55. Surface area occupying ratio Y of these dimples 6 is≥0.80. The total volume V of these dimples 6 is≥300 mm<SP>3</SP>and≤700 mm<SP>3</SP>. The average volume Va which is a value of this total volume V divided by the total number of the dimples is≥1.30 mm<SP>3</SP>. In the sectional shape of the dimple 6, the average curvature R being an average value of the curvatures r is≥16 mm.
