PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber collimator which can be mounted in the enclosure for an optical component using solder and which has outstanding optical characteristics, and an optical component which uses these fiber collimators and in which these are mounted using solder and which is excellent in environment resistance, and a method with which the optical component can be manufactured at a low price with facility. SOLUTION: The fiber collimator 1 is provided with a vent mechanism and the gas in the collimator 1 can flow out into the outside. The optical component is constituted so that two fiber collimators 1 are fixed to the enclosure of the optical component with solder in a state in which they are disposed to face oppositely. Moreover, when performing alignment of the relative angle about the optical axis of tow fiber collimators 1 which are to be disposed to face oppositely, a rotation angle when loss becomes the minimum is found out by the relative position of through holes 8.
