PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display apparatus having a structure for preventing a sealing member from oozing capable of preventing the sealing member from oozing out into a display area and without causing a short circuit or the like in a gate line and a signal line. SOLUTION: The sealing member 20 can be prevented from oozing out into the display area by forming a blocking groove 62 in zigzag all around the display area in a flattening film 54 in the position inside of the sealing member 20 and outside of the display area.
