PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-quality reproduced image by using image region separation data saved in image data even when there is no image region separating function in an output machine by reducing the data amount of image region separation and embedding the image region separation data in a tag of the image data or in the image data. SOLUTION: An image region separating part 101 detects a character edge, a dot and a color region out of an input image. In a rectangular processing part 102, a plurality of image region separated results are merged and transformed into rectangular coordinates.
