摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine equipped with a secondary air supply system and a control method for the multi-cylinder internal combustion engine where the cost is reduced, the degree of freedom of a layout is improved, deterioration in fuel economy and a deterioration allowance of an exhaust gas performance are reduced to a minimum, and also an engine rotational stability is assured at the time of idle running. SOLUTION: The secondary air is supplied from an secondary supply opening 35 only into an exhaust passage belonging to a part of cylinder. A fuel supply amount in a cylinder of the secondary air supply is increased to delay an ignition timing of the secondary air supply so that the generated torque in each cylinder during supplying the secondary air is made uniform.
