PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backward confirmation device which can reduce a number of distance measuring parts for a user needed a navigation device, because the user can know the change of an existing position by using a GPS means and a control circuit of the navigation device, in the backward confirmation device detecting the position of an object existing at the backward position of a moving body going backward. SOLUTION: The device comprises the GPS means 4 which is mounted on the moving body and detects the existing position, the distance measuring parts 9, 10 which measures the distance between the moving body and the backward object, a control circuit 1 which calculates the position of the object based on the change of the existing position due to the migration of the above moving body and the change of the above measuring distance.
