PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for preventing and treating the infection with human infectious malaria parasites by carrying out inhibition of the proliferation of the human infectious malaria parasites such as malignant malaria parasite, tertian malaria parasite, quartan malaria parasite and ovale malaria parasite by a chemotherapy by borrelidin. SOLUTION: The agent for preventing and treating the infection with the malaria parasites contains the borrelidin represented by the formula as an active ingredient. The borrelidin has an antimalarial activity against the human-infectious Plasmodium falciparum Welch in vitro, and exhibits preventing and treating effects against a murine malaria parasite infectious model in vivo.
