PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost recording device equipped with a sorting function of a simple and compact structure capable of performing the sorting operation for sheets of paper. SOLUTION: The recording device equipped with a sorting function can record a plurality of sheets of paper P continuously and sort the recorded sheets P into groups each consisting of the specified number of sheets and can set the exhaust position of the recorded sheets P selectively to the normal position where the sorting function is out of service and the sorting position where the sorting function is in service, in which the sorting position is set deviated in the sheet transporting direction on a single exhaust stacker 33 with respect to the normal position.
