PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forklift capable of preventing any trouble of its pallet lock device such as a failure or a poor performance of operation and enabling the user to make maintenance easily. SOLUTION: The forklift 1 is equipped with a lock device consisting of a lock bar 12 to push for locking a pallet P inserted to the fork 4 and a locking mechanism 11 for the lock bar 12 to make locking operation, wherein a protection cover 17 to prevent any foreign matter such as small stones or dust from contacting with the locking mechanism 11 is installed in its lower part in such a way as mounted removably with bolts 18.
