PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding method and a binding device for a wire rod coil for packing densely preventing a pressurization crack, an abrasion mark or tangling between wire rods. SOLUTION: This relates to a binding method and a binding device for a wire rod coil where the wire rod coil in a standing condition is placed on a receptacle, is compressed while the same is vibrated, and is bound. A plurality of forming guides are provided for regulating and forming the outside shape of the wire rod coil placed on a receptacle from a side face direction. The guides press the outside face of the coil at a fixed pressure for measuring and obtaining the outer diameter of the wire rod coil before the same is vibrated. The guides are held so as to form a gap in a size exceeding 0% and not exceeding 20% of the outer diameter of the rod before the same is vibrated. A vibration having a magnitude of 0.1-30 mm and a frequency of 5-60 Hz containing vertical and horizontal composition simultaneously is applied to the coil to be bound. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
