The system has a polarization conversion system (PCS) transmitting one polarized beam from incident light and reflecting another polarized beam toward an incidence plane. A scrolling unit (20) converts a rotation of a lens cell into a rectilinear motion of an area of the lens cell. A light valve processes a beam based on an image signal and forms a color picture. A projection lens unit magnifies the color picture.
