A sealing strip for fitting to a window or door seals the gap between the door or window and the fixed frame and provides a measure of sound damping. The elastic strip has a solid construction with a tapering flange (4) and a bent over end (3) for a push fit grip into a groove around the window or door. The top of a the seal has an outer surface (9) at right angles to the grip flange and a curved profile sealing lip (6) which is pressed against the fixed frame when the door/window is closed. The curved sealing profile sits on a solid section (5) set into the profiled grip groove.
