<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet which uses an aqueous binder, shows high sensitivity and produces a high-quality image, and an imaging material which can produce direct digital color proofs (DDCP) on demand and an imaging method. <P>SOLUTION: This thermal transfer sheet has at least a photothermal conversion layer and an imaging layer formed on a support. The imaging layer contains an acrylic resin and/or a styrene-acrylic copolymer resin showing a glass transition temperature (Tg) of not more than 50°C and a minimum film forming temperature (MFT) of not more than 50°C as a binder. In addition, an imaging layer support sheet has at least the photothermal conversion layer and an intermediate layer on which the imaging layer is coated when an image is recorded.
