<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a piezoelectric ceramics and an electromechanical transducer with which a uniform and dense sintered compact satisfying the performance as a piezoelectric ceramics is manufactured in good productivity. <P>SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, a ceramics feed material 30 which forms a piezoelectric ceramics by sintering is placed between a pair of electrodes 13 and 14. The electrodes 13 and 14 and the ceramics feed material 30 are enclosed in a vessel 20 comprising a heat resistant and electroconductive material, and while the ceramics feed material 30 is pressurized at 10-100 Pa, a voltage is applied between the electrodes 13 and 14 and electrically heat the ceramics powder 30 at 700-1,300°C for 30-120 minutes to sinter.
