<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing, from a ceramic matrix composite material, a component in which many holes are formed. <P>SOLUTION: A fiber preform 20 for constituting a fiber reinforcing material for the composite material is manufactured and solidified by depositing a matrix phase enough to combine the fiber to each other in the preform without compacting the preform completely. A plurality of pins 10 made of a rigid material are inserted into the solidified preform and the densification of the solidified preform provided with the pins is continued by depositing at least one ceramic matrix phase. Subsequently, at least part of the pins composed of a material at least part of which is removable is removed to leave an adjusted hole penetrating through the part by carrying out a treatment having no effect on the ceramic material of the matrix. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
