<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate and recovery copper from cut powder generated in the production of an epoxy resin copper clad laminate which has heretofore been subjected to substantial disposal treatment, and to recycle the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the separation and recovery method for copper where the cut powder of an epoxy resin copper clad laminate is added to a ketone-based solvent, and, after stirring and mixing, the mixture is allowed to stand, after the addition and mixing, by the standing, the mixture is separated into the three layers of an upper layer of a solvent layer, an intermediate layer consisting essentially of powders of a fiber base material and a resin, and a lower layer of a copper layer.
