PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically reset an alarm clock timer of a television in response to the weather or a traffic situation. SOLUTION: In a data broadcast signal processor 105, data broadcast is subjected to a signal processing. In a data selection section 106, specific information concerning the weather or traffic is selectively acquired. In a data processing section 107, a timer alteration amount is calculated from weather condition, traffic state or a temporal change in the atmospheric pressure. In a timer setting section 108, timer set time is altered in conformity with a calculated result. Consequently, the timer is automatically actuated earlier by necessary time than in ordinary time, and hence a user can wake up easily.
