PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing for a wheel in which a magnetic encoder can be securely fitted in and fixed while securing seal performance. SOLUTION: A plurality of rolling elements 3 are provided between an outer member 2 and an inner member 1 to provide this bearing for a wheel for rotatably supporting the wheel to a car body. A seal device 5 is provided at an end part of a circular space between the outer member 2 and the inner member 1. The seal device 5 is partly composed of the magnetic encoder 10 comprising a multi-pole magnet 14 having magnetic poles alternately in a circumferential direction, and a first seal plate 11 as a core metal.
