<p>The intension is to enhance the efficiency of mounting components on a printed board and to provide a relatively compact arrangement. To this end, a surface-mounting machine comprises first and second mounting operation areas (4, 5), component supply sections (6A, 6B, 7A, 7B) disposed on opposite sides of the Y-axis in the mounting operation areas, first and second head unit support members (14, 15) movable in the direction of Y-axis, the head unit support members being provided with head units (21A, 21B, 22A, 22B) movable in the direction of X-axis, each member having two such units, and first and second board holding means (31, 32) for holding boards (3) so that the latter are movable in the direction of Y-axis. Further, first through third guide frames (11, 12, 13) are installed between areas outside the two mounting operation areas and the two mounting operation areas, thereby supporting the opposite ends of each of the two head unit support members.</p> |
