PURPOSE: A reed valve or a reed valve assembly is provided to secure structure standing excessive pressure even in a reed with thick plate thickness and to improve the following performance. CONSTITUTION: A reed valve(20) comprises a sheet-like support substrate(21) having a valve hole(22) pierced in the center in a plate thickness direction, and a flexible reed(24) of a plate shape covering the valve hole on a side of the support substrate. One longitudinal end of the flexible reed is fixed to the support substrate. The support substrate has a rib(27) extending along the longitudinal central line in the valve hole and dividing the inside of the valve hole into two space. A surface of the rib opposed to the reed is situated on a plane nearly identical with the surface of the support substrate or in the valve hole and is adjacent to the reed.
