ELEVATOR SYSTEM FOR REPRESSING GENERATION OF UNNECESSARY SPACE

PURPOSE: An elevator system is provided to position a thin-type hoist on a projection surface of a horizontal section of an elevator path at the height except for a top portion and a pit portion in the elevator path and to incline a direction switch pulley for a wall of the elevator path on the projection surface of the horizontal section. CONSTITUTION: A car(1) for moving up and down in an elevator path(8) comprises an entrance; first and second car walls positioned at both sides of the entrance; and a third car wall connected to the first and second car walls with facing the elevator path. A guide rail(6) for the car restricts a horizontal motion of the car. A counter weight(2) is positioned between the third car wall and a first wall of the elevator path facing the third car wall on a plane section of the elevator path and moved up and down oppositely to the car. A guide rail(7) for the counter weight limits the horizontal movement of the counter weight. A hoist(4) has a sheave(4a) and a motor for driving the sheave. The hoist is positioned between the third car wall and the first elevator path wall and separated from the counter weight in a width direction of the first elevator path wall. The sheave is opposite to the first elevator path wall. The motor is arranged on the third car wall. The size of an external shape of the direction of a rotary shaft of the sheave is smaller than the external shape size of the vertical direction for the rotary shaft. A rope(3) is wound around the sheave to suspend the car and the counter weight. A first direction switch pulley(5a) is wound with a portion of the rope from the sheave to the car. A second direction switch pulley(5b) is wound with a portion of the rope from the sheave to the counter weight.
