SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING A DOWNLOAD TYPE MULTIMEDIA SERVICE IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK, AND A METHOD THEREOF, CONCERNED WITH REALIZING VARIOUS USER INTERFACES

PURPOSE: A system for providing a download type multimedia service in a wireless communication network, and a method thereof are provided to realize various user interfaces by freely downloading user interfaces and codecs according to selection of a user. CONSTITUTION: A subscriber of a wireless terminal selects a wanted UI(User Interface) by using a platform player included in the wireless terminal(S201). The selected UI is downloaded to the wireless terminal from a UI providing unit(S202). The wireless terminal executes the corresponding UI and selects wanted multimedia contents for downloading the multimedia contents(S203,S204). The wireless terminal confirms a codec necessary for playing the downloaded multimedia contents, and judges whether the codec is to be downloaded(S205,S206). If so, the wireless terminal searches for the necessary codec and requests the codec to download the codec(S207,S208). The wireless terminal plays the corresponding multimedia contents(S209).
