RESET METHOD IN COMPUTER SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reset agents of a computer system without requiring reset of the computer system, or partitions thereof.

SOLUTION: This method comprises (A) a step for receiving a first reset signal directed to a first agent and (B) a step for judging whether a second agent is in a prescribed run state and the run state includes a step for executing hard reset to the first agent when it is in a state in which the hard reset can be executed to the first agent without requesting reset to the second agent and (C) when the second agent is judged to be in the run state and a step for executing soft reset to the first agent (D) when the second agent is not in the run state.
