PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mat planting and container planting, which requires only a low cost, causes an excellent establishment ratio of ear tip to culture soil, excellent entanglement of roots with culture soil and does not eliminate the ground cover plants by vibration, or the like, during transportation, in a planting method for perennial ground cover plants such as sedum useful for vegetation of rooftop, veranda, or the like, of a building. SOLUTION: In the planting method for the perennial ground cover plants such as sedum, the perennial ground cover plants are planted on the surface of a lawn seedling mat with soil in a thickness of 10-30 mm.
