PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle for continuous casting which can prevent a vertical cracking in a main nozzle body and an occurrence of molten steel leakage. SOLUTION: The immersion nozzle for continuous casting comprises the main nozzle body 1 which is made of refractory excellent in spalling resistance and equipped with a fitting cavity 3 on the upper face, and a seat member 4 made of refractory excellent in corrosion resistance which is connected to the main nozzle body by fitting the fitting projection 6 projecting on the lower face to the fitting recess of the main nozzle body, and has a rod seat 7 with a conical surface on the upper face fitted to a bottom end of a stopper rod. The nozzle is inserted into the bottom of a casting vessel from above. In the fitting part of the main nozzle body and the seat member, a linear line drawn between an upper end and a lower end of the peripheral surface and an axis of the main nozzle body i.e. the seat member cross at an angle of not more than 45°but more than 23°, and a distance between the upper and lower ends of the peripheral surface is 20-40 mm.
