PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust core that is superior in strength, magnetic characteristic and corrosion resistance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: After an Fe powder is covered with an inorganic oxide, a dust core 10 is molded by a press using a specified mold and a high-strength Al alloy is used as a core material. Then, after the dust core 10 is housed in a casing 20 containing an Al-Si based alloy on the side of the dust core 10, it is heated at a higher temperature than a melting point of the Al-Si based alloy to fuse the dust core 10 and the Al-Si based alloy.
