PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pallet lock device for a forklift for realizing a lock state or a release state when the lock state or the release state is not detected during turning on a key switch, and determining as an error when the both states can not be realized. SOLUTION: A control circuit 34 is provided to reversely operate a driving machine 18 for realizing the release state when the lock state or the release state can not be detected during turning on the key switch, normally operate the driving machine 18 for the lock state when the release state can not be realized, and determine as the error when the lock state can not be realized, either. Accordingly, labor and time for initial setting can be saved.
