PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colliding object discriminating device for a vehicle which can increase the pedestrian discriminating precision. SOLUTION: An external collision detecting sensor 1 is fixed to the front surface of a bumper absorber 3, and an internal collision detecting sensor 2 is fixed to the back surface of the bumper. The internal collision detecting sensor 2 transmits a collision impact force imparted from a colliding body colliding with the front surface to the rear while spreading or attenuating it. As a result, a pedestrian, a small area colliding body and a heavy solid object can be highly precisely discriminated in a simple circuit constitution. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
