<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump water heater capable of improving installation performance of a unit by reforming a plurality of drainage structures. <P>SOLUTION: This heat pump water heater comprises a heat pump circuit formed by successively connecting at least a compressor, a condenser, a decompression device and an evaporator by refrigerant pipes, a water-refrigerant heat exchanger exchanging the heat with the condenser, a water circulating circuit composed of a circulation pump for circulating the hot water, water valves for utilizing the hot water, and a water utilization circuit having an atmospheric air opening valve connected with the water valves to prevent the backflow, in a state that the heat pump circuit, the water circulating circuit and the water utilization circuit are accommodated inside of one casing. A hot water storage tank for storing the water heated by the water-refrigerant heat exchanger, and having an escape valve for discharging the water expanded more than its volume to the external on its upper part, is mounted inside the casing, and the drain pipe is mounted to discharge the water attached to the evaporator, the expanded water discharged from the escape valve of the hot water storage tank, the water discharged from the atmospheric air opening valve and the water extracted from the water utilization circuit, and/or hot water storage tank from the casing to the external as a whole. Whereby a problem on the installation performance of the unit caused by the plurality of drain pipes in a conventional heat pump water heater, can be solved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
