PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of cracks in a metallic tube after brazing. SOLUTION: The tool 1 is used for brazing a metallic component C on the outer peripheral surface of the middle part in the longitudinal direction of a metallic tube P. The tool is composed of a base section 2 and a pair of tube supporting sections 3 provided upright in a manner opposing to each other on the base section 2. A space S between the tip ends of the tube supporting sections 3 is made smaller than the outer diameter of the metallic tube P. The brazing method includes steps of: placing the metallic tube P on the tube supporting sections 3 so that a part of the tube is fitted between the both tube supporting sections 3 of the tool 1; placing the metallic component C on the metallic tube P; and heating the metallic component C with flames from the side.
