PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily, inexpensively construct a centralized voice mail apparatus shared by a plurality of pieces of telephone exchanging apparatus in a system in which the plurality of pieces of telephone exchanging apparatus are connected by a digital dedicated line. SOLUTION: Serial ports SP1-SP4 are fixedly prepared to connect to a voice mail apparatus VM1 to respective pieces BT1-BT4 of main apparatus, a voice mail control signal regarding the recording or reproduction of a voice message is transmitted and received between the serial ports SP1-SP4 and respective pieces BT1-BT4 of main apparatus, and the recording or reproduction of the voice message is executed in respective pieces BT1-BT4 of main apparatus, based on the result of transmission and reception.
