PURPOSE: Provided are a filter cloth by using ropes and a filtering device by using the same which are able to improve filtering efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The device(100) comprises a water tank(110) prepared by assembling divided tubal bodies having inlet and outlet pipes(101) used for introducing and discharging raw water and having a filter cloth backwash means(150) for separating foreign materials adhered to a filter cloth, many partitioned plate bodies(120a,120b) having a size corresponding to the inner diameter of the water tank and each placed on the upper and lower part of the tank to partition the inner part of the tank into a raw water storage chamber(121) and a filtering chamber(122), a fixed tubal body forming a pillar-shaped hollow body, where one side opening is opened to the filtering chamber and the other side opening is closed by an openable means, perforating the partitioned plate bodies to form a flow path connected to the raw water storage chamber and the filtering chamber and having many perforated holes, connected to the inner part, on a main wall and a filter cloth(200) installed to cover the main wall part of the fixed tubal body located on the raw water storage chamber, filtering foreign materials in the raw water flowing from the raw water storage chamber to the filtering chamber and made by densely placing flexible ropes or strings and fixing both ends thereof by bands(142) as one body.
