PURPOSE: A method for providing repeater information to a terminal utilizing an available channel, and an apparatus therefor are provided to obtain accurate position information of a terminal by compensating a signal delayed by passing through a repeater. CONSTITUTION: A repeater information providing unit(120) provides information of a repeater(20). A channel generator(110) receives the information and generates an unused channel among code channels of a base station(10) to synthesize the channel with a signal of the base station(10). A GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver(124) provides reference time. A base station signal arrival time measuring unit(128) interworks with the GPS receiver(124) to provide signal arrival time to the channel generator(110). A repeater delay time detector(126) detects delay time of the repeater(20) by using input and output signals of the repeater(20) and the GPS receiver(124) to provide the delay time to the channel generator(110).
