PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detachable staircase protection material having excellent sound insulation, sound absorption and durability and good appearance. SOLUTION: In the staircase 1 of any one of a box staircase (b), a side girder staircase (a), a force girder staircase (c) and a string staircase (d), the protection material 5 having a double faced adhesive tape 2, a sheet-like matter 3 with a loop thereon or a locking member 4, the other locking member 4 or a sheet-like matter 3 with a loop by interposing the double faced adhesive tape is mounted on at least the peripheral edge in a tread 11 of the staircase 1 in an engagement and separation state.
