<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high voltage piezoelectric transformer which is free from spurious output in contour vibration to use and has no higher harmonic component, and also to provide an inexpensive piezoelectric transformer whose workability is good. <P>SOLUTION: The piezoelectric transformer provided with input and output electrodes on the surface of a piezoelectric ceramic plate is provided with the input electrode at the peripheral part of the front and rear surfaces of a square or circular piezoelectric ceramic plate, and provided with the output electrode on the front and rear surfaces of a center part. As for the part of the input electrode, a piezoelectric ceramic plate is polarized in the direction of thickness.
