METHOD FOR DRIVING OPTICAL SWITCH AND DRIVING CIRCUIT USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving an optical switch capable of fast driving and to provide a driving circuit using the same.

SOLUTION: The method for driving an optical switch is carried out by switching the transmission line of an optical signal by a change in refractive index caused by carrier injection. A driving current is applied on the optical switch to turn on the switch, and a bias current to an extent not to transit the optical switch into the on-state is applied to turn off the switch.
