PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of feeding and setting sheets by simple operation in the sheet feeder used in an image forming device. SOLUTION: This sheet feeder comprises a paper feed tray 10 installed in a feeder body 2 so as to be withdrawn therefrom and having a carrying device 30 on a withdrawing direction side and a bottom plate 20 put on the paper feed tray 10 and movable generally parallel with the withdrawing direction. Also the sheet feeder comprises a setting means 80 which, when the paper feed tray 10 is withdrawn from the feeder body 2, moves the bottom plate 20 in the withdrawing direction to separate the bottom plate 20 from the carrying device 30, and when the paper feed tray 10 is stored in the feeder body 2, sets the sheets in a transferable state.
