PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pack tabaccos in a packet. SOLUTION: An output wheel supplies a plurality of grip heads along a folding path, each of grip heads and packets having main side walls each comparted by mutually overlapped longitudinal internal tabs and longitudinal external tabs are received and held by ends. Each packet with the longitudinal external tab which is removed and released from the longitudinal internal tab is supplied to the folding path and is supported by a folding wing gripped by the grip head. The folding path is extended to a folding station, The folding wings of each grip head are moved to fold the longitudinal external tab to a closing position where the longitudinal external tab comes into contact with the longitudinal internal tab at the station, simultaneously, the main side wall facing the outside of each packet is flatly held by allowing the main side wall to comes into contact with an external contrast device.
