PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accelerator pedal which is available at a low cost. SOLUTION: An arm 2 has a special shape portion 5, on which projections 51 are provided, in the middle of a straight lower portion 4 having almost a constant diameter. A pedal step portion 3 has an engaging portion 6 having a shape corresponding to the special shape portion 5, and further has an inserting portion 32 which has a through hole 33 formed therein and has a holder portion 34 capable of receiving the lower portion 4 in the neighborhood of the engaging portion 6. The engaging portion 6 has a pair of projecting pieces 61, 61 which has the interval slightly larger than the diameter of the lower portion 4 and has a groove portion 62 between the projecting pieces 61, 61. The work for assembling the pedal step portion 3 is completed by inserting the lower portion 4 into the through hole 33 of the inserting portion 32 and putting the special form portion 5 in the engaging portion 6, and then by putting the lower portion 4 in the holder portion 34.
