<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording sheet having surface glossiness and an excellent image receiving property. <P>SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording sheet wherein an undercoat layer is provided on a substrate, at least one ink receptive layer is provided thereon and the ink receptive layer is mirror finished by pressure welding by a mirror surface drum heated while the ink receptive layer is in a damp state, the undercoat layer contains titanium dioxide and a solvent based adhesive. The ink receptive layer is preferably constituted by providing a glossiness developing layer containing an inorganic ultra fine particle on an ink absorbing layer wherein the ink receptive layer contains amorphous silica. Further, it is more preferable that total basis weight of the ink jet recording sheet is ≥150 g/m<SP>2</SP>and ≤300 g/m<SP>2</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
