<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an article for pets, capable of simply and efficiently producing the article having a good color and taste at a low cost, and to provide an apparatus for the same. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, every layer of animal skin is used as a raw material. A pretreatment process comprises shaving fat from the skin, separating the skin into layers, adding a softener thereto, and washing the skin with water. A wet-molding process comprises skin-processing steps comprising removing water from the skin, cutting it, and molding the skin by knitting it or raw material granule-processing steps comprising removing water, cutting the skin, adding an adhesive thereto, agitating it, and pressing or extruding the skin. A dry-molding process comprises skin-processing steps comprising drying the skin in the sun, cutting it, soaking it in water, and knitting or pressing the skin or raw material granule-processing steps comprising drying the skin in the sun, powdering it, adding the adhesive thereto, agitating it, and pressing or extruding the skin. An aftertreatment process comprises naturally drying the skin or thermally drying it. A rotary drum has a water-discharge opening simultaneously used as an opening for supplying and discharging the raw material, a water-supply opening, and a drive unit mounted on a side part thereof. A smoking oven used therein has an oven door, an opening for supplying and discharging the raw material, a smoke-exhausting opening, smoking racks with carriages, and rails. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
