PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-component type developer which has excellent electrostatic chargeability and environmental stability and can contribute to miniaturization of an apparatus. SOLUTION: The two-component type developer, which contains at least a toner and a carrier and in which the toner contains at least a binder resin, coloring matter and wax; the mean circularity of the particles of≥3μm in the circle of the equivalent diameter is 0.915 to 0.960; the transmittance of the toner in an aqueous solution of 45 vol.% methanol is 10 to 70%; the surface of the carrier is coated with a resin and the true specific gravity of the carrier is 3.0 to 4.0, is used.
