PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer ceramic substrate having independently raised projections and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A release layer is superposed on a substrate 1 except for portions that correspond to plane shapes of the projections 2a-2c, and further a laminated body is formed on the substrate 1 by interposing the release layer. The entirety of the laminate is then crimped, followed by notching the upper laminated body along the plane shapes of the projections 2a-2c and removing the laminated body on the release layer to form the projections 2a-2c.
