摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflector 2 that is of a sheet type, is very lightweight and can retroreflect even light L incident at a high angle of incidence with a sufficient reflection quantity. SOLUTION: A reflector 2 is manufactured by forming, on a base material 6 made of plastic, projection parts 3 supported by four wall surfaces 8 and substantially flat parts 4 which spread among the respective projection parts 3; laminating a retroreflection sheet on the surfaces of the projection parts 3 and flat parts 4; and providing a layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive 7 on the reverse surface of the base material 6 including the flat parts 4 and end flat parts 5. Even when light L is incident on the reflector 2 at a macroscopically large angle of incidence (i.e. from an oblique direction which is nearly parallel to the reflector 2), the angle of incidence on the rising parts of the respective projection parts 3 become small, and hence the light is retroreflected with a large light quantity at these parts. The reflector thus retroreflects the light L which has a large angle of incidence with the sufficient light quantity as a whole. The lightweight sheet type reflector 2 is easily fitted to an object body with a normal pressure-sensitive adhesive 7, thereby facilitating its handling. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
