PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monochromatic image display system capable of obtaining an image suitable for a monitor. SOLUTION: A CCD camera 21 outputs imaged color image signals (three primary color signals R, G, and B). The image signal processing part 23 of an image conversion device 25 makes setting such that the proportions of R, G, and B signal components become equal in generating a luminance signal Y and outputting the luminance signal Y to an EL panel 3 for displaying a monochromatic image as a back guide monitor for a vehicle.
