摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image read apparatus which has a simple component configuration, is easily assembled and adjusted, and can be miniaturized and prevents a picture quality from deteriorating by floating dust. SOLUTION: An an image read apparatus 1 is provided with read glass 30 and a read part 3 for reading an image of an original through the read glass 30, and is further provided with a spacer 10 mounted in a more upstream side position in the original transport direction than an original read position on the opposite surface of the read part 3 on the read glass 30, and a control part 42 for controlling an original read position of the read part 3. Besides, the image read apparatus includes a guide 11 whose light reflectance is different from that of the spacer 10, and the control part 42 regards a position indicating an edge wherein the quantity of light received by the read part 3 is equal to or greater than a predetermined quantity as the terminal of the spacer 10. Further, the control part 42 designates the original read position at a position separated from the terminal of the spacer 10 by a predetermined distance toward the downstream of the original transport direction.
