PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk loading apparatus capable of automatically and correctly placing a disk thereon irrespective of the direction of the displacement of the disk with a simplified structure. SOLUTION: A circular recessed part 2a for example, on/to which the disk is placed/positioned, is provided in the upper surface of a tray 2. A circumferential edge part 2aa of an interior substantially half of the recessed part 2a is more raised than a circumferential edge part 2ab of a front side substantially half of the same. Further, a substantially flat plate-shaped pawl 4a is provided slantingly on the circumferential part 2aa such that it hangs down toward the center of the recessed part 2a. In contrast, a substantially flat plate-shaped pawl 4b is provided on the circumferential edge part 2ab of the front side substantially half of the recessed part 2ab such that it hangs down toward the center of the recessed part 2a.
